Playing with texture & meaning
Size: 12" x 12" x 1"
Poem:
Meaning rests in rough edges and echoes.
Even silence splinters when touched.
It seeps through seams,
like rain through old plaster,
finding the path of least resistance.
Smooth surfaces hold their secrets too,
quiet depths beneath the pale restraint.
The world remembers in texture,
the way light clings to uneven walls.
We are all still setting,
wet clay in a kiln too small for our wanting.
We crack, we cure, we carry the shape of heat.
The dream is not perfection,
but persistence.
To see clearly is to stand inside the blur.
To create is to choose distortion,
and call it truth.
