A Labor of Love: The Story Behind This Work
This artwork is truly a labor of love and a testament to my persistence. Creating the white-on-white background with embossed lettering took me to my limits, and after over a month of working just inches from the canvas, I almost called it quits.
The figure you see here, like many of us, adopts a confident pose, trying to stay strong, positive, and keep moving forward. But inside, there’s fear, stress, and uncertainty about what this messed-up world might bring. Although the figure lacks eyes, she seems to look at you, unsure if you’re a friend or foe. This ambiguity invites you to reflect on your own perceptions and the emotional masks we all wear.
